Welcome to Wedding Cake Cottage! This guide is designed to walk you through your wedding journey with us and answer all the questions you may have along the way. From ceremony details to reception tips, bar options, and timelines — we’ve got you covered. Our goal is to make your day joyful, seamless, and unforgettable.

CHOOSE YOUR CEREMONY HERE

Please choose from the ceremonies provided

• We can add a special reading - you can choose someone to read it attending your wedding or we can do it for you
• Bring any momentos for those that have passed on place a special photograph of a loved one 
• We can do a hand fasting or special addition to your ceremony
• We prefer the wedding couple to stand at the alter and the wedding party to sit down near them
• Please choose two people attending your ceremony to sign the license ie; Best Man and Maid of honour or parents/children to friends. 
• We can supply witnesses if you are getting married solo.
• During and after ceremony photo's will be taken
• After ceremony refreshments will be served as included in your package

• Property Details and Parking
• One Restroom is located on site 
• 
  
• Guests park safely on the venue’s side of the road (free)
• Small children must be supervised; venue is on a busy road
• Guests needing accessibility should park close to the property- There are two steps up into the venue 
• If accessibility ramps are needed, please let us know 
• Driveway kept clear for guest access

 What's Included:

• Ceremony area set up with chairs & signing table
• All decor as seen on the website

Wedding and Guest Information

• Guests greeted on arrival
• Guests arrive only 15 min before ceremony
• Wedding party arrives 20 min prior with wedding license
• Couples arrive wedding-ready; contact Mary if needing dressing accommodations
• Do not be late as your photographer will be available for only the time allotted or extra charges of $150 per extra 1/2 will incur.

Restrictions:

• No flower petals inside on the floor
• No open flame candles
• No tape/decor on walls, furniture, or pillars
• For the comfort and safety of all our guests, smoking or Cannibus smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property, including nearby road or neighbouring properties. It is a vintage venue. If smoking is a must we ask you to smoke in your vehicle.  A $400 fine may be applied for any violations. Thank you for helping us keep the vintage space safe and enjoyable for everyone! 💕

Balance Payment:
E-transfer to elopeontario@gmail.com we have auto deposit 

• Tables, chairs, dishes, cutlery, napkins, glasses, centrepieces as shown & Battery-operated candles for ambiance
• Two large harvest tables and chairs that seat up to 24 people
• Additional table of six can be added
• A lounge area two love seats
• Vintage bar for refreshments
• Buffet Serving area 
• Card box & small bouquet available for loan
• Please see MENU choices below- choose one menu for your lunch or dinner reception
   

Optional Add-Ons you can provide:

• Fresh flowers or personal centrepieces (drop off 1 day prior)
• Table runners or additional decor (drop off 1–2 days prior)
• Guest gifts (drop off 1 day prior)
• You can add flowers or decor to entrance at outside
  Please schedule drop-offs in advance
   

• 1/3 due 60 days prior
• 1/3 due 30 days prior
• Final balance 14 days prior
   

Add-on Bartender Service:

• 1 Smart Serve certified bartender:  $300 each 

Bar Options & Insurance:

• Bar #1: Bring only Wine, beer, cider, seltzers — you require a $4 million PAL insurance Party Alcohol liability policy.
   
• Bar #2: Bring the above plus hard liquor —You require a $6 million PAL insurance  Alcohol liability insurance policy + AGCO liquor permit

Reception Policies:

• Private, invitation-only event; no alcohol sales
• Service will be refused if guests are aggressive or self serving off property
•  One Glass Reception: guests select 1 glass, and it can be refreshed & cleaned during the event- we don't contribute to excessive waste as we are near to Lake Huron!

Suggested Amounts when buying alcohol for your reception:

• 3 beers per guest
• ½ bottle wine per guest

Example: 24 guests = ~2 cases beer + 12 bottles wine
