Thank you for taking the time to read this, this is for your reference throughout your wedding journey with us!

Weddings are our business, and we love that you have booked with us. 

We (Mary and John) and our carefully selected team that have poured our hearts and souls into this business.

We use family heirlooms, glasses, china, lots of things passed down in our family to share with you.

We want your day to as special as possible. Nothing gives us greater joy than to see happiness, and this world needs lots of that!

We pay every attention to detail as possible, so you can have a wonderful day! 

We like to surprise you with an added touch here and there. 

We don’t think you should know everything about your day!

We are a small business and don’t charge for extras like others do. 

We don’t even add a mandatory gratuity; we leave that up to your discretion.

Let's get started! - Information and Timelines

ALL CEREMONIES

• What you and your guests need to know:·   
• Small children need to be supervised at all times. The venue is on a busy road.
• Please let your guests know there is free parking on the venue's side of the road. Park far and safely on the shoulder. 
• The bathroom is located inside back of the building. 
• This is non smoking property
• Have anyone who needs special accessibility to park as close to the property as possible. · We keep the driveway clear for guests to walk into easily accessing the building and small property. 
• The wedding area will be setup for your guests, and one of our team will be there to greet everyone on your behalf. 
• Tell your Guests to arrive only 15 mins before ceremony.
• Part of the wedding party to arrive 25 mins ahead with wedding license.
• Couple needs to arrive wedding ready. If you need to get dressed please make arrangements with Mary prior to wedding.

We arrange a call 14 + days prior to your wedding

2.  What is the final number of guests?
3.  Please choose a Wedding song you'd like to play while walking in.
4.  Is anyone walking you down the aisle?
5. How many people in your wedding party standing up front with you?

After the call we request you etransfer your balance to: weddingcakecottage@tcc.on.ca

We have auto deposit and will send you a receipt.

What we include:

As seen in our video and photography: decor, tables, chairs, dishes, cutlery, napkins, glasses and centrepieces, battery candles 

We also have for you to borrow:

Card box

Small Bouquet

Not Permitted:

Flower petals thrown on the floor

Flame candles

No decor attached, or taped to walls or to any furnishings or pillars.

What you can add:

Fresh flowers or your own centrepieces- Need day before wedding

Runners or any table decor  - need 1-2 days before wedding

Gifts for wedding guests - need day before 

• You are welcome to make a set time to drop things off the day before.

All Payments:

Ceremonies + Elopements + Pop ups - your wedding is to be paid in full by etransfer 14 days prior to your wedding to weddingcakecottage@tcc.on.ca 

For Micro Weddings, Dinner or Lunch-Brunch Wedding payments: 

Payments are in 3 parts: 

60 days 1/3

30 days pay 1/3 

14 days balance be paid in full by etransfer 14 days prior to your wedding to weddingcakecottage@tcc.on.ca

• We provide a Smart Serve  bartender to serve alcohol at your wedding. They are certified by the province of Ontario under

• They have to comply with the rules and laws regarding serving alcohol in Ontario for $300
• ◦If you’re having a wedding larger than 40 you will require two bartenders. We offer two kinds of bars that you supply  
• Bar #1 Wine & Beer + ciders and Seltzers - (No hard liquor or liqueurs) this bar requires You to purchase party alcohol liability insurance a minimum of a $3 million insurance policy if you are being a wine/beer/seltzer/cider bar .

• Bar # 2 A bar that includes Hard Liquor or Liqueurs + wine, beer etc - You to purchase party alcohol liability insurance a minimum of a $ 6 million insurance policy if you are being a Hard liquor or liqueurs wine and beer seltzer/cider bar .

• Please bring the policies printed out  with your bar for your event.
• Buy large bottles of mix it’s easier for us to handle  
• Please schedule a call with your Wedding Mary Regarding your bar before purchasing your alcohol 519-240-0308
• This is a private event that is not open to the public, it is by invited invitation only and you are not selling any drinks
• We look forward to hosting your special event and want to host a very successful and happy reception. We have put these procedures in place for your protection
• We will not tolerate aggression. When a guest has consumed their limit we will offer them non-alcoholic drinks. If we see other guests giving the “cut off guests” alcohol drinks we will cut those guests off as well. And as a result this could result in shutting down the bar.
• We offer a One Glass Reception which we will have a sign posted on the bar:  One glass reception Please choose your glass for the evening We can refresh, and wash it for you anytime  We are dedicated to  no waste  no litter in Lake Huron
• Our recommendations are for your bar for your upcoming event:    3 beers per guest and 1/2 bottle of wine per guest. 
• Example a 24 person wedding,is approx  2 cases of beer and12 bottles of wine
